Crypt Shyfter- The end is nigh!

Sup nerds. Just wanted to post a quick update about Crypt Shyfter. It’s been a crazy ride so far and the series has grown a bit, gotten some great feedback, and even won a few trophies on NG, but alas all things must come to an end, and this post was bound to show up sooner or later.

Originally I’d planned on doing like 120 episodes or something crazy, but life is being life and my interests are changing (kinda), so after taking a look at the Crypt Shyfter outline I’m cutting a lot of stuff out that I had in originally and wrapping up the series a little earlier.

I’ll still be posting weekly until the series ends, but I just wrote the last episode today so it’s looking like there will be 8-9 more episodes before I wrap up the story for good around episode 30.

After that I’ll be taking a break for a while to gather my thoughts and figure out what’s next. There may be more Crypt Shyfter in the future, or maybe a totally new series, or possibly just a bunch of random shorts for a while.

Making Crypt Shyfter has gotten me more and more excited about actual Dungeons & Dragons, so I’ve been finding myself playing more frequently, which is seriously cutting into animation time, and I don’t want the series to get crappier just because I can’t focus on it.

So there’ll be more cartoons in the future, but I just need a bit of R&R and D&D for now.

If any of you guys are interested in playing D&D, my offer still stands- I’m always available Monday & Tuesday nights after 6pm EST and most weekends on Roll20 if you wanna game with me! I’d be more than happy to teach new players or DM for anyone currently looking for a group.

That’s it for now, I’ll see you guys on Sunday for the next chapter of Crypt Shyfter!

And so, the proud warrior stood up from his desk, thanked his viewers, and moved on to explore new, exotic realms of monsters and magic. Strange worlds that exist within a shared imagination, rather than through his alone. Yes, it's sad to see such a great storyteller (and puncher of faces) go, but it's exciting to think about the new stories he will have for us in the future once his travels bring him back to us.

I never was a big of D&D, or anything involving other people. My childhood was relatively lonely, and I grew accustomed to single-player experiences, like playing video games and watching cartoons by talented, charismatic artists such as yourself.

Enjoy yourself, KuFuSpaBa. You certainly earned the rest.

KungFuSpaceBarbarian responds:

I didn't get into D&D until maybe 2-3 years ago when my roommates in college introduced me to it. I was also a single player guy my whole life before then, I bought all the games for their campaigns and never really touched the multiplayer. But I've been doing more multiplayer games lately (co op like DnD or Diablo instead of vs games). Funny how tastes can change over time.

I'll definitely still be on newgrounds all the time and will post new blogs or cartoons occasionally but it won't be weekly like I've been doing until another crazy idea consumes my brain and doesn't let me sleep until I get it all out :p

My roommate forced me to play every Mega Man title from the original and X series that was currently available at the time. He tried to get me to enjoy Settlers of Catan, but I was more enthralled with my DS. I played a lot of Tetris DS and Advance Wars: Dual Strike back then. Before that, I did spend countless hours on Diablo 2. I leveled up a barbarian that only used throwing weapons and a sorceress with high strength to wear heavy armor and an enchanted weapon, while spamming hydras that kept others from wanting to test their endurance against mine in melee combat. Never played the original game, and D3 requires the player to be serious with their character's build as early as Act 3 of Normal mode. It's not fun if I can't goof off.

KungFuSpaceBarbarian responds:

The only MegaMan I played was MegaMan x4 on PS1 which was pretty cool. Never played dual strike but I really enjoyed advanced wars 2, which led me into similar games like fire emblem. Super cool games like a basic StarCraft almost. I haven't finished D2 yet but I've played the original Diablo and Diablo 3 many times- of course in D2 and D3 I also played barbarian!! :D warrior in D1 since there were only 3 classes to choose from

...but he never did see us guys that Sunday for the next chapter of Crypt Shyfters.

Once is understandable, but two Sundays? Something foul is in the air, and it's probably not a fart joke.

KungFuSpaceBarbarian responds:

I'm falling apart! All of life just jumped in at once but I will get the next chapter out I promise!

If that's the case, then piece your ass back together before worrying about posting more cartoons. Priorities, and all that. Anything I can do to help?

KungFuSpaceBarbarian responds:

Put your right foot in, take your right foot out, put your right foot in and ya shake it all about! Do the hokey pokey and turn yourself around! *clap-clap clap clap clap CLAP*

Well, the first response had a rather serious tone to it, and now the hokey pokey? You alright there KuFuSpaBa?
